Entry #5 [4/6/25]
Apr. 6th, 2026 05:21 pmGood Morning!
Currently writing to you from [redacted], rural [redacted]. Which basically means I'm at my grandmothers house for this week so I have no privacy, no room, and minimal internet. I have taken to sleeping in the walkway of a room entirely filled with boxes and loose papers. I have constructed a nest out of blankets and have been using my backpack as a pillow. If you couldn't tell I'm not thrilled about this development, but we persevere. However, this means I cannot watch the Bannerfall finale. Not live anyway. I think the internet would try to explode if that happened. I also can't watch the new Fandive episode right now :(.
Well, before my sudden confinement I decided to sign up for Voiceteam! Considering I have made a grand total of one (1) podfic before I am incredibly nervous. It also starts the week of my finals so I'm not sure how that will go down. Actually I only have 1 test I need to leave the house to take, so maybe it won't be that bad. I signed up day of sign ups opened. My reasoning is that I don't want to scare myself out of doing it. That's almost what happened when I did the 2025 PBC podjam (audio dramas, not podfics), I joined day of sing ups closing because I was scared I would fail. But I did it! And I didn't fail! (and I will write the second episode eventually, trust).
I have opera tickets for Sunday (i think), Madama Butterfly. I don't really know how I am going to write a critique on it? At least for visual art and theater I already had a bit of an idea of the mediums but I knew nothing about opera before a few weeks ago.
Back to Bannerfall, because it's been a few hours since I started writing this. I've already seen some spoilers (I don't mind spoilers) and ohhhh god. I can tell this will hurt. You have no idea how much I hate I couldn't watch this live. just imagine me in despair and you get the picture.
I also saw Hoppers this week. It was alright I guess. I actually kind of hated the dialogue, but I like the style they went with for the people. Overall maybe like a 5.8/10 movie for me. But I looooooove Mable. She's great. She's everything. I wish we could have seen something more to do with her anger issues. We are told about them, but that never really comes up. She tries to call the birds to the mayor guy one time but it doesn't even work. I think it would have been more interesting if she actually got a chance to be hurt someone who didn't deserve it. Still love her though <3. I want to draw her at some point. I would now IF I WASN"T STUCK IN PURGATORY
That reminds me, go check out purrgatory. Very good game, I recommend. It's probably one of my favorites.
So yeah. I am having a time right now.
